About

 Welcome to Tupelo Leather!

We are a loving husband and wife team in our 50's. James is the primary maker and designer. Barb does everything else. James is thrilled with this arrangement.

Barb is also an estate and elder law attorney, which James loves as well.

She's had quite an adventurous life having invented and reinvented herself with great success many times.

James has studied art and worked as a graphic designer for many years. He has also worked in the building trades for many years.

We are both so pleased to be working on our new, exciting project born from James's love of leather. In fact, it could be said that the the creation of Tupelo Leather is just a way for James to continue buying leather.

Tupelo Leather offers handcrafted bags, wallets, belts and guitar straps.

Our mission statement is to provide our customers with stylish and functional products made from the highest quality leathers from Tuscany, Italy and Chicago, Illinois.

For us each item is about the leather first and the design second. We have thoughtfully selected leathers that will age, or patina with use making them more beautiful and more unique with each use and each experience. This is where we get "Love the Patina!".

Having selected our leathers we now focus on design. Our designs are created in house and are unique to us and the retailers that carry our products.

We hope you enjoy using them as much as we enjoy making them.

On the right here is the big dog who helped name the company. We used to walk Zack at the Maine State Park regularly.

It's a beautiful little park with a path leading right to the beach and a sweet little section called Tupelo Swamp.

We named the company Tupelo Leather in memory of our handsome boy and the time we had with him. We miss him very much. He was a little neurotic but tried so hard to please and loved so deeply.

I have a feeling I'll be posting pictures of him here and there on the site just to honor him.

If you have an opportunity, time and energy for walks and can bring a four legged family member everywhere, I highly recommend adopting a pit.
